There is so much that goes into your wedding day design. It's not just about pretty favors and stylish calligraphy-- although that does play a role especially in my playbook. Designing an event can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months. Especially when it comes to couples, I’m particularly thorough because I want to make sure that your wedding reflects your personality and style. I have to get to know you by meeting with you at your go-to places, going to eat at your fave restaurant, looking at your closet or hanging out with your family to fully understand who you are. It’s a great feeling when I hear guests at the weddings I work say, "this is so them"[the couple].

I wanted to share a little bit of my design process with you to help you get a jump start at bringing your dream wedding to life. These are the top things I consider when designing.

BRANDING
Branding your wedding is a lot like the relationship we have with the gym. For me, getting to the gym is the hard part but once I’m there I’m like getting sh*t done and super focused. The branding process of your wedding design is a lot like this. It can be a tricky process and requires a lot research, development and strategic planning. But once you figure this part out, down to the font size and patterns, all the other components should fall in line so you can get stuff done and focus. Think of this like Apple, Nike or Instagram. What is their logo, their colors, the way they make you feel and the way they look. When I design I do the same thing for you, I do my homework on you through our dates, clicking through your pinterest board and stalking your Insta. Then I develop a logo, color, feel and look that represents you as a couple, which I then use as the basis for your wedding day design. Yay!

VENUE
Imagine you’ve been invited to watch an Angel’s game in Anaheim or a Mavericks game at the AT&T Stadium. You’re super pumped and have all your fan paraphernalia. You can’t wait to head to the bar to get a beer and order popcorn from the popcorn guy. BUT then when you get there the team is playing but the stadium is empty, the bar is closed and no one is selling the merchandise :( If you think about it, just going to the game isn’t as fun when the stage isn’t set correctly. Same goes for your wedding... think of your venue as the stage-- it has to be set perfectly with the right ambiance, the right food, fabulous attire and great company. Your wedding design should fall in line with that of the venues. Everything from your save the dates and invitations should be used to help the set the stage at your wedding.

DETAILS
I once heard this saying that has stuck to me for as long as I can remember, “Humans remember specifics and forget generalities.” It’s true-- have you ever ran into an acquaintance or boss who surprised you because they remembered your name? Or what about a gift your niece or nephew made you? I for one keep every single card I’ve received since I was in high school. The small gestures excite me and the generalities well they are just that: generalities - we tend to overlook those. I personally believe all events should have an abundance of details with hidden meanings so that you feel all throughout your wedding planning experience that your wedding represents YOU.

Developing a brand for my couples that matches their venue means all other things fall into place perfectly. The calligraphy, the favors, the cake topper, the bouquet, the shoes, the ribbons, the music all trace back to who the bride and groom are as a new family.
